An Indonesian loves his job so much that he named his son after him. His 5 month old boy is called Statistical Information Communication Office …
Even before he got married, Samet Wahyudi knew that if he ever had a son, he would name him after the department in which he worked as a civil servant. He made this very clear to his fiancé before they married, and she accepted his condition. Their first child was a girl, so Samet agreed to a more conventional name for her, but when his wife Linda gave birth to their second child, a boy, last December last year, he knew exactly what his name would be – Statistical Information Communications Office .
Indonesian media reported the child’s unusual name earlier this month after checking the country’s name registration database. Samet Wahyudi told reporters that he got a job as a civil servant in the city of Brebes in 2003 and has worked in the statistical information communications office ever since. This place has become like a second home to him, so he wanted him to be connected to his son in some way.
The Statistical Information Communications Office, born on December 23, 2020, will likely have a hard time imagining by his full name, which is why his parents have already chosen a nickname for him, Dinko. When asked if he had thought about how his son would handle his name when he grows up, the Indonesian official said he was sure the boy would get used to it at some point.
Samet’s wife, Linda, immediately accepted the bizarre name, but her parents had some objections that they eventually dropped after hearing about the deal the parents had before they were even married.
Hopefully the Statistical Information Communications Bureau won’t bring his parents to justice for ruining his childhood with that strange name.
