Sydney Shooting: Ghassan Amoun, brother of Bassam Hamzy shot dead


In a brazen lunchtime execution, Ghassan Amoun, the brother of Brothers 4 Life gang head Bassam Hamzy, was shot dead in the street. In Sydney’s long-running underworld feud between the Hamzy and Alameddine families, Amoun was the recognized ‘next target.’ As he sat in his BMW outside an apartment complex in western Sydney, the high-ranking mafia commander was gunned down.

The shooting took place in broad daylight, according to authorities, and was carried out by a man “dressed in black attire” with a “covered face.”

Around 3 p.m. on Thursday, the 35-year-body old’s was still lying in the street, covered by a blue sheet, while cops and forensics officers poured over the crime scene, wearing gloves and masks and carrying clipboards.

According to Acting Superintendent Glen Fitzgerald, the shooting was “clearly targeted,” and officers were looking into “evident linkages to criminal networks.”

The burnt-out truck had already been identified, and police were on the lookout for at least two criminals.

‘A driver and a shooter appear to have gotten out of one of the vehicles,’ acting Superintendent Fitzgerald said.
In every vicious attack,’ Amoun was approached as he got into his car. ‘Any incidence like this is concerning,’ said acting Superintendent Fitzgerald. ‘This is what happens when the wrong individuals get their hands on firearms.’

As gusts of wind swept up at the scene in the late afternoon, police hurried to put a tent over the body. On Thursday, just before 5 p.m., 13 police vehicles arrived on the scene, with a police helicopter hovering overhead, sirens blaring in the distance, and residents sitting on their balconies watching the police work.

Officers went door-to-door in the area, knocking on neighbors and shop owners in the hopes of finding key information about the killer’s identity.

Amoun died at the scene after police and paramedics responded to the gunshot on Rawson Road in South Wentworthville at 12:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Police sealed off the area because of the crime scene. The investigation has been started in the case. The shooting incident happened in Sydney and the locals are shocked after the high-profile incident in country. Ghassan Amoun shot dead in the shooting. He died on scene according to the reports. It is yet to be clear who is responsible for the crime?
